Hendrix was the $100,000 Top Priced Droughtmaster Bull of 2019, a combination of sire appeal, carcass and structural functionality. His sale day stats were very impressive. At 24 months old they read - 908kg - 14 & 8 fats & 144cm EMA. But it was his exceptional temperament, structure, volume, length and overall sire appeal which made him stand out from the rest. He moves effortlessly and held his condition very well through adverse seasons. His fertility is outstanding, both in the collection centre and the paddock.
In 2020, Hendrix semen set a new Droughtmaster Record at $8000 for 5 straws. In his 3 years at Mungalla, Hendrix's progeny fetched over $250,000 including Mungalla 4076 and Mungalla 4095 who sold for $45,000 and $22,000 respectively at MAGS 2022.
Hendrix has 1 son in this year's sale, Mungalla 4761 and unfortunately passed away in early 2022.
This daughter of Mungalla Natural was selected as a donor for Mungalla's 2020 IVF program due to her length, tidy udder and feminine appeal. From this, she produced 5 calves by Billabong Hendrix and 1 natural calf by the same sire. She had 3 sons via this program – Mungalla Luxe (Lot 5), Mungalla 4486 who has been retained by Mungalla and is currently serving cows, and Mungalla Leo who was sold at the Droughtmaster National Sale 2023. One of her sons was also sold at MAGS 2019 and five of her daughters have been retained in the Mungalla herd. She had her first calf as a 2 year old and 14 of her progeny are registered.
